Volleyball Recap: Jenkins Extends Winning Streak to Six

Jenkins came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Groves Rebels by a score of 2-0. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Jenkins took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-14.

Jenkins got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zoe Diogo out in front who had five aces and one block. Diogo is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Glover, who had four aces and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Jenkins was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in six consecutive contests.

Jenkins' win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Groves, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Jenkins has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Johnson on the 21st. As for Groves, they will challenge Southeast Bulloch at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
