Basketball Recap: Holy Family Piles Up the Points Against Summit

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holy Family). They really took it to the Summit Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up an 86-44 win. Holy Family has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Rocco Howes, who went 9 for 12 on his way to 22 points and eight rebounds. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Schott, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

Holy Family smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Holy Family has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Summit, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Holy Family will venture away from home to challenge Erie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Family knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Erie likes a good challenge. As for Summit, they will host Golden at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
