Baseball Recap: Eastlake Has No Trouble Against Del Norte

Eastlake never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Del Norte Nighthawks as the Eastlake Titans made off with a 7-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Beau Covell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Joel Vargas, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. JP Conero was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Eastlake hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Eastlake now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Del Norte, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

We've got a battle between Titans coming up. As for Del Norte, they will square off against Hilltop at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hilltop's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Del Norte's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
