Softball Recap: Chippewa Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Chippewa Valley came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the Memphis Yellowjackets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Big Reds have posted since April 30th.

Courtney Metcalfe was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Sammie Nowicki was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Anna Kadrovach (Captain), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI.

The victory got Chippewa Valley back to even at 11-11. As for Memphis, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Chippewa Valley will square off against Marine City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Memphis, they will face off against Harbor Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
