Basketball Recap: Savannah Pantry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead William Floyd over Walt Whitman

William Floyd lost against Walt Whitman back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The William Floyd Colonials came up short against the Walt Whitman Wildcats, falling 63-40. The Colonials were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

Several Colonials players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Savannah Pantry, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Pantry has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Campbell, who posted five points along with five rebounds and three steals.

William Floyd dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Walt Whitman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. William Floyd will host Patchogue-Medford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Walt Whitman, they will face off against Massapequa at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
