Football Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Centennial extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were outmatched by the Liberty Patriots and fell 49-20. If the Golden Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 38-14 to the Patriots when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Elmo Whitten, who rushed for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Brogan Witcher was another key player, throwing for 144 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will host Stockdale at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Liberty, they will face off against Garces Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. The Rams will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
