Baseball Recap: Duchesne Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Duchesne waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Priory Ravens 8-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pioneers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Finnegan Ryan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ryan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

In other pitching news, Gavin Moffitt looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Jaymeson Forest was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jackson Nikodym, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Duchesne's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Priory, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Duchesne has already played their next contest (against Lutheran South), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Priory, they will welcome Principia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
