Softball Game Preview: DeQuincy Tigers vs. Rosepine Eagles

DeQuincy hasn't had much luck against Rosepine recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. DeQuincy will take on Rosepine at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Rosepine will be up against a hot DeQuincy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. DeQuincy never let East Beauregard get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Thursday.

Maddie Vinatieri made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Bryah LeDay was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Audi Flower was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rosepine). They blew past Vinton 18-1 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The victory got Rosepine back to even at 10-10. As for DeQuincy, their record is now 13-10.

DeQuincy came out on top in a nail-biter against Rosepine in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for DeQuincy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
