Baseball Recap: Hingham Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hingham had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Silver Lake Regional Lakers a 7-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Harbormen have won by exactly seven runs.

Hingham got a big performance out of Matthew Volpe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave Volpe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Casey Joseph, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Hingham's record is now 14-9. As for Silver Lake Regional, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Hingham will venture away from home to take on Billerica Memorial at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Silver Lake Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
