Basketball Recap: Heartland Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Heartland Christian Academy lost against Heritage Classical Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Heartland Christian Academy Eagles fell just short of the Heritage Classical Christian Academy Hawks by a score of 41-39. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Heartland Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Rylee Kiser, who posted 19 points. The contest was Kiser's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Titus Bock, who had eight points.

Heritage Classical Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Heskett out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. Heskett is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trip Taylor, who earned 17 points along with seven steals and five boards.

Heartland Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Heritage Classical Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heartland Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Victory Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Heritage Classical Christian Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
