Football Game Preview: Atkins Camels vs. Mount Tabor Spartans + How To Watch

The Atkins Camels will square off against the Mount Tabor Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Atkins' offense hasn't had much luck over their past six games, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Atkins' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against North Davidson on Friday. They took a blow against the Black Knights, falling 38-0. While losing is never fun, the Camels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Black Knights are ranked 158th).

Meanwhile, Mount Tabor came up short against Oak Grove on Friday and fell 52-42.

Atkins will have to keep a close watch on Kingston Brown and Jayden Muhfooth Smith, a pair of players who had a big impact on Mount Tabor's prior game. Brown threw for 342 yards and four touchdowns, while Muhfooth Smith gained 123 total yards. Brown's passing game has become a key predictor of Mount Tabor's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Jalen Davis was Brown's top target, picking up 105 receiving yards and one TD.

Mount Tabor's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Atkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
