Softball Game Preview: Trinity Raiders vs. Hancock County Hornets

Trinity hasn't had much luck against Hancock County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Trinity 1.8, Hancock County 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Tuesday, Trinity beat Butler County 4-1.

Meanwhile, Hancock County didn't have quite enough to beat Hickman County on Friday and fell 2-1.

Hancock County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubree Mosby, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Mosby has hit this season.

Trinity is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hancock County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.

Trinity skirted past Hancock County 3-2 when the teams last played back in March. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
