Baseball Game Preview: Blount Leopards vs. McIntosh Demons

The Blount Leopards will venture away from home to challenge the McIntosh Demons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blount is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Blount is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Tuesday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williamson.

Josiah Thomas was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Blount is 7-2 when Thomas posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Lamarion Jones also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, McIntosh was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over Williamson.

McIntosh has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blount, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Blount might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from McIntosh in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Leopards avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
