Volleyball Recap: Mulberry Grove Has No Trouble Against Ramsey

After losing to Ramsey the last time they met, Mulberry Grove decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Aces walked away with a 2-0 win over the Rams on Thursday. That two set margin sets a new team best for the Aces this season.

While Mulberry Grove won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22.

Addy Buatte paced Mulberry Grove's offense, picking up six kills. Buatte were helped by Lola Johnson and Lillabelle Kelley, who contributed six assists each. Buatte was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with four each.

The victory got Mulberry Grove back to even at 4-4. As for Ramsey, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Mulberry Grove will head out to face off against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ramsey, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Vandalia at 6:00 p.m.
