It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hanford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Kamiakin Braves. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Heidi Sweet made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over eight innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Neve Jimenez, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Hofstad, who got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Hanford's record is now 13-3. As for Kamiakin, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Braves beat Hanford by a score of 5-4 later that day.
