Baseball Game Preview: Columbus Blue Devils vs. Cook Hornets

For the second straight game, Columbus will face off against Cook. The Blue Devils will host the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Columbus heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Cook by a score of 9-8. The Blue Devils' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Thomas Williams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cook pushed their record up to 19-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 23-11.
