Volleyball Recap: Samantha Harvey Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Northwestern

It was a proper cat-fight when Seneca took on Northwestern on Tuesday. The Bobcats came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in August.

Seneca got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 32-30.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seneca to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samantha Harvey, who had 16 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Harvey has posted over her last six matchups. Sophia Primavere was another key player, getting six digs and two blocks.

They weren't the only good server: Seneca was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Seneca's record now sits at 5-8-3. As for Northwestern, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Seneca will square off against Corry at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northwestern, they will take on Fairview at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
