Basketball Game Preview: Central Christian Academy Lions vs. Berean Academy Warriors

The Central Christian Academy Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Berean Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Central Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-34 to Marion.

Central Christian Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Laila Hernandez, who went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Hernandez has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Corinne Rauch, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Berean Academy entered their tilt with Classical on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 36-27 win over the Saints. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly nine points.

Berean Academy pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points over those games. As for Central Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Things could have been worse for Central Christian Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 36-17 loss to Berean Academy when the teams last played back in January. Can Central Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
