Recap: The Classical Academy Titans vs. Falcon Falcons

The Classical Academy Titans waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 50-46 victory over Falcon. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but The Classical Academy was the better team in the second half.

Alaina Bonacquista continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five assists and three steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellery Grebenik, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.

Falcon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Macey Fothergill, who scored seven points along with five steals. Fothergill is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Howard, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

The Classical Academy pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Falcon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Classical Academy will take on Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Falcon, they will head out on the road to challenge Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Coronado focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday.
