Volleyball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short

Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Tanners when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Peabody Veterans Memorial can attribute much of their success to Mackenzie Landry, who had ten assists and four aces. That's the most aces Landry has posted since October 1st.

Winthrop's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Winthrop has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Triton Regional on the 25th. Peabody Veterans Memorial has also already played their next match (against Arlington Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
