Basketball Recap: Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Comes Up Short

Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a hard 62-45 fall against the San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-38 back in December of 2024.

Leading San Jacinto Leadership Academy to victory were Jake Gagnepain and Eric McWright. Gagnepain posted 30 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while McWright earned 14 points and seven rebounds. Gagnepain's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ezra Olguin, who put up nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for San Jacinto Leadership Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season.
