Softball Recap: Hawkins' Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hawkins can now relate to. They fell just short of the Rivercrest Rebels by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hawks have suffered since February 22nd.

Kalyn Ellison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alana Gipson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
