Sharyland had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 3-5 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 victory over the La Joya Coyotes. The game was the first time the Rattlers have beaten the Coyotes on their court since December 11, 2018.

As for La Joya, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. Coyotes fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Sharyland since Tuesday.

La Joya lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aydin Wilder-Bey, who shot 70% from the field en route to 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Owen Benoit was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Sharyland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-38 win against Rockport-Fulton on the 6th. As for La Joya, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-30 victory against Juarez-Lincoln on the 5th.
