Basketball Recap: Dustin Ward's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Millennium over Revolution Academy

Millennium was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 58-43 fall against the Revolution Academy Rhinos.

Millennium lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dustin Ward, who posted 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That was a full 44.2% of Millennium's points, marking the fifth time in a row Ward has had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Hearn, who earned 12 points and four steals.

Millennium's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Millennium won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Asheboro Hybrid Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Revolution Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on John Yowell Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th.
