Basketball Recap: Kaleb Ballard Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Prattville

Wetumpka's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They snuck past the Prattville Lions with a 57-53 win. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Lions last Tuesday, they had to take a 68-63 defeat.

Wetumpka got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb Ballard out in front who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 20 boards. Ballard's big performance that morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Chris Robinson, who almost dropped a triple-double with ten points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.

Wetumpka smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Wetumpka now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Prattville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Wetumpka won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Montgomery Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prattville, they will welcome Pelham at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
