Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Panthers vs. Tuscola Mountaineers + Official Tickets

Franklin is 2-8 against Tuscola since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Panthers will take on the Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. Franklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Franklin made easy work of Smoky Mountain and carried off a 12-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Anderson Terrell and Brayden Greenwood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Terrell pitched 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Greenwood pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Terrell went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Greenwood went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Terrell a new career-high.

In other batting news, Addix Sutton was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Gunner McConnell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tuscola couldn't beat Brevard on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Mountaineers lost 18-7 to the Blue Devils.

Tuscola's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Franklin, their record now sits at 10-7.
