Baseball Recap: Wetumka Comes Up Short

Wetumka came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Quinton Savages, falling 9-3. The Chieftains were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Savages apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Dwayne Lowe was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Wetumka's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wetumka will host Drumright at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Quinton, they will square off against Wilburton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
