Volleyball Recap: Pittsfield Comes Up Short

Pittsfield lost against Wahconah Regional on September 5th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Generals took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Generals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Pittsfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-23, 25-10, 25-17.

Shyanne Mungin paced Pittsfield's offense, picking up seven kills. Mungin got some help from Isabella Baltazar and her 22 assists. Finally, Baltazar was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Pittsfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Wahconah Regional, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pittsfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wahconah Regional will take on rival Taconic at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
