Baseball Recap: Columbia Bruins vs. Woodland Beavers
Columbia had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Woodland Beavers 6-5.
Kai Brasuell made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Brasuell was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Bryce Wang was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will square off against Heritage at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodland, they will challenge Rochester at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
