Baseball Game Preview: Young Americans Christian Eagles vs. Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS

The Young Americans Christian Eagles will head out to face off against the Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Young Americans Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Covington Academy on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Jayden Sigur was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Sigur wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Turner, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Alex Johnston also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Trinity Christian School of Griffin played against Creekside Christian Academy on Tuesday and lost via forfeit.

Young Americans Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. Trinity Christian School of Griffin is on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Young Americans Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Trinity Christian School of Griffin in their previous matchup on March 3rd, sneaking past 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Young Americans Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
