Recap: South Platte Blue Knights vs. Potter-Dix Coyotes

The South Platte Blue Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 47-43 loss to they. They have struggled against Potter-Dix recently, as their match on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Blue Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Estrada, who scored six points along with seven steals. Estrada continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Conner Evans, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.

It was another big night for Brayden Kasten, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals for Potter-Dix. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Kasten has scored at least 25% of Potter-Dix's points. Caden Mcconnell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.

South Platte bumped their record down to 5-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Potter-Dix, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

South Platte will head out on the road to face off against Wallace at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Wallace is ranked 220th, while South Platte is ranked 213th). Potter-Dix and Kimball will face off on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Kimball focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
