Basketball Recap: Boulder City Takes a Loss

If Boulder City was feeling good fresh off their 54-23 takedown of Awaken Christian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Boulder City Eagles lost to the Spring Valley Grizzlies on the road by a 67-53 margin on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Boulder City still got an impressive performance from Sean Pendleton, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points and three steals. Pendleton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Aiden Birch was another key player, putting up ten points.

Boulder City's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Spring Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Boulder City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Doral Academy Red Rock at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spring Valley, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Durango at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. Spring Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Durango likes a good challenge.
