Basketball Game Preview: Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS vs. Half Moon Bay Cougars

Hillsdale and Half Moon Bay are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS will head out to face off against the Half Moon Bay Cougars at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hillsdale is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Hillsdale came up short against Woodside and fell 45-36. The contest marked the FIGHTING KNIGHTS's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Half Moon Bay faced off against Burlingame on Wednesday. Half Moon Bay came out on top against Burlingame by a score of 53-40. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Panthers are ranked 564th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hillsdale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Half Moon Bay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Hillsdale came out on top in a nail-biter against Half Moon Bay when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 30-27. Will Hillsdale repeat their success, or does Half Moon Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
