Manteca wins going away against Golden Valley

Recap: Manteca Buffaloes vs. Golden Valley Cougars
The Manteca Buffaloes had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They took down Golden Valley 55-36. Given Manteca's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Golden Valley is ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Manteca's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Nelson, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Evani Gaeta, who scored 7 points along with 5 assists.
Manteca's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Golden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Manteca will be playing in front of their home fans against Bear Creek at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Golden Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against Tournament Team.
