Volleyball Recap: Douglas Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road + How To Watch

Douglas had lost six matches on the road, but after bumping their record up to 5-9 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Blackstone-Millville Chargers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Monday.

Douglas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoe Greenough led the charge by getting 21 assists. That's the most assists Greenough has posted since back in October of 2024. Elyse Johnston was another key player, getting six aces and three digs.

Douglas was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

As for Blackstone-Millville, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9. Chargers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Douglas since Friday.

Blackstone-Millville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brenna Kotsianas, who had seven aces and four digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Miya Gagne, who had 20 digs and one assist.

Looking ahead, Douglas will welcome Nipmuc Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Blackstone-Millville, they will host New Mission at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
