Baseball Game Preview: Maryville Spoofhounds vs. Savannah Savages

Maryville is 1-9 against Savannah since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spoofhounds will square off against the Savages at 4:30 p.m.

On Monday, Maryville came up short against Lathrop and fell 10-6.

Carson Hageman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Will McCollough was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Meanwhile, Savannah came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.

Savannah pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Maryville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Maryville suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to Savannah in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Spoofhounds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
