Basketball Game Preview: Orthopaedic Vipers vs. Foshay Wolverines

The Orthopaedic Vipers will venture away from home to face off against the Foshay Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Vipers fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-27 win over West Adams. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Vipers had established a 20-point advantage.

Meanwhile, Foshay blew past Rise Kohyang, posting an 82-16 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Orthopaedic better focus on containing Shomare' Gray and Peter Egwurube as the pair were huge in Foshay's win. Gray posted 21 points and five steals, while Egwurube scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Gray's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Esteban, who put up nine points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Orthopaedic didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Foshay in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 48-42 win. Will the Vipers repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
