Baseball Recap: Oakcrest Comes Up Short

Oakcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Middle Township Panthers. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 16-5.

Oakcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Middle Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season.

Oakcrest and Middle Township could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Falcons (ranked 253rd) will meet Absegami (ranked 107th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Middle Township will square off against Holy Spirit at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (270 vs. 127).
