Volleyball Recap: Anna Rodgers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rocky Grove over Cranberry Area

If Rocky Grove was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Farrell on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Orioles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cranberry Area Berries on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Orioles in their meetings with the Berries: they've now lost five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 25-10.

Rocky Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Anna Rodgers, who had 15 digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Abagail Mawhinney, who had nine digs and eight kills.

Rocky Grove's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Cranberry Area, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Rocky Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Commodore Perry on the 23rd. Cranberry Area has also already played their next game (against Oil City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
