Football Game Preview: Madera South Stallions vs. Sanger West Hornets

The Madera South Stallions will venture away from home to challenge the Sanger West Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madera South has given up an average of 50.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Madera South is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They were dealt a 60-14 defeat at the hands of Sunnyside. While losing is never fun, the Stallions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 886th, while the Wildcats are ranked 403rd).

Madera South's loss came about despite a quality game from Jairo Parra, who threw for 107 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 50 yards.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Sanger West, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past Hoover 49-21 on Friday. The Hornets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sanger West picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Madera South, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Madera South suffered a grim 36-14 defeat to Sanger West in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Stallions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
