Basketball Recap: Macon County Starts off Right with Win over Republic

Macon County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They strolled past RePublic with points to spare, taking the game 69-52.

Despite the defeat, RePublic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carmontez Williams went 10-for-16 on his way to 26 points. Jamal Morris was another key player, putting up eight points.

Looking ahead, Macon County will be playing in front of their home fans against Stem Preparatory Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for RePublic, they will head out to square off against Nashville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
