Volleyball Recap: Cuthbertson Comes Up Short

If Cuthbertson was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Charlotte Catholic on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavaliers fell 3-1 to the Butler Bulldogs on Thursday. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 19-25, 25-18.

Cuthbertson has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Butler, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cuthbertson is set to face off against their familiar foe Marvin Ridge on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Butler will take on rival Weddington at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
