Basketball Recap: Valley Beats Bismarck for Their Third Straight Victory

Valley entered their tilt with Bismarck on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They snuck past the Bismarck Indians with a 59-55 victory. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Indians are ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bismarck's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Dunlap, who posted 17 points and eight boards. August Martinez was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Bismarck, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-69 win against Meadow Heights on the 14th. As for Bismarck, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-51 defeat against Westwood Baptist Academy on the 14th.
