CHASE proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Genesee Christian Soldiers 15-13. The game was the first time the Conquerors have beaten the Soldiers on their field since April 22, 2021.

Carter Sly was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Sly was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Nate Niswonger and Caleb Niswonger did most of the damage at the plate: Nate got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two triples, two RBI, and one run, while Caleb got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Judah Mason was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

CHASE was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .389 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

CHASE's record now sits at 3-0. As for Genesee Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. CHASE will square off against Bloomfield Christian School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Defenders will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Conquerors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Genesee Christian, they will face off against Morrice at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
