Basketball Game Preview: The Ambrose School Archers vs. Cole Valley Christian Chargers

The Ambrose School has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Cole Valley Christian has won six straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. The Ambrose School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Cole Valley Christian likes a good challenge.

The Ambrose School will head into Tuesday's match on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Marsing two weeks ago. The Ambrose School blew past Marsing 85-64. The Archers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

The Ambrose School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mark Yenor, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds gave Yenor a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Mathis, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds.

The Ambrose School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Cole Valley Christian strolled past Nampa Christian with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 55-41.

The Ambrose School has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for Cole Valley Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
