Softball Recap: Gentry Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Gentry had won six straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 10-5 to make it seven. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Prairie Grove Tigers an 8-0 shutout. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight runs or more this season.

As for Prairie Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Prairie Grove's part, they got a good showing from Calley Lowery, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, Lowery didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in March.

Gentry has already played their next game (against Mansfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Prairie Grove, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against West Fork at 5:00 p.m.
