After both having extra time off, the Timpanogos Timberwolves and the Cedar Valley Aviators will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Valley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Timpanogos, who comes in off a win.
Timpanogos is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Payson, who was ranked 21st at the time (Timpanogos was ranked 24th). The Timberwolves came out on top against the Lions by a score of 3-1 last Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Timberwolves as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Timpanogos was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 23-25, 25-22.

Chance Wallace was the offensive standout of the game as he had 27 digs and one assist. Those 27 digs gave him a new career-high. Sam Lowell also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
Meanwhile, Cedar Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Spanish Fork last Thursday and fell 3-2. The Aviators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cedar Valley started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19, 15-10.
Cedar Valley now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Timpanogos, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Timpanogos has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Cedar Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Timpanogos was able to grind out a solid win over Cedar Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Aviators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
