Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Common Eagles vs. Wiggins Tigers

The Liberty Common Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Wiggins Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Liberty Common is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Liberty Common's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to Fort Morgan, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liberty Common saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Teagan Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Wiggins suffered their closest loss since April 3rd on Saturday. They fell just short of Wray by a score of 8-6.

Arath Carrazco and Jace Yzaguirre stepped up to the plate in a big way. Carrazco went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Yzaguirre went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Carrazco has become a key player for Wiggins: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Isaac Flores was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Liberty Common's record is now 9-9. As for Wiggins, their record now sits at 10-10.

Liberty Common skirted past Wiggins 7-6 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
