Lenawee Christian wins going away against Hanover-Horton

Recap: Lenawee Christian Cougars vs. Hanover-Horton Comets

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Lenawee Christian Cougars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They strolled past Hanover-Horton with points to spare, taking the game 73-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Lenawee Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Summer out in front who scored 28 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Summer has scored at least 25% of Lenawee Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Aidan Kaulins, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Hanover-Horton still got an impressive performance from Luke Soper, who scored 24 points along with 9 rebounds. Soper scored a full 41.4% of Hanover-Horton's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Blackledge, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals.

Hanover-Horton struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lenawee Christian racked up 14.

The win makes it two in a row for Lenawee Christian and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Hanover-Horton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Lenawee Christian will head out on the road to face off against Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Madison focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday. As for Hanover-Horton, they will be playing at home against Grass Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
