Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame (SO) Knights vs. San Dimas Saints

Notre Dame (SO) fell victim to Mira Costa and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

Notre Dame (SO) got a good showing from JuJu Diaz-Jones, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave Diaz-Jones a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, San Dimas made sure to put some runs up on the board against Agoura on Tuesday. Everything went San Dimas' way against Agoura as San Dimas made off with a 10-2 victory.

The team relied heavily on Ashton Romero, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Vaughn Coleman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one RBI.

San Dimas is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Notre Dame (SO)'s loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
